Bastille Day French Recipes

Happy Bastille Day! / Joyeux Quatorze Juillet!

I haven't had a chance to prepare a recipe especially for today, but I have put together a little selection from the recipe index in honour of the occasion. My trip to Paris in January with my eldest son Henry was such an incredible treat, and an amazing opportunity to eat beautiful food. One of the best gifts I have ever recieved was given to me by Henry before we left - a notebook with my From the Kitchen logo on it, and the invitation to use it to record my favourite foodie experiences and ideas for recipes. I have scribbled in that notebook so many times, and re-reading it brings back  many wonderful memories. I hope you enjoy some of the recipes that the trip inspired:

  1. Hi,

I am very impressed after reading through parts of your blog. With your cooking skills I think you could be interested in this competition I have found. You cook your national dish and then you have the opportunity to win an iPad mini or money. It could also be a good chance for you to let more people know about your blog since you will be shown on their homepage and in a cookbook!
Here's the presentation about the competition:
